Quick biog!
After leaving school I worked briefly for a small trade union in Sevenoaks before joining the WRAF where I spent 2 and a half fabulous years working underground - no, literally, under the ground!
In the early '70s I had numerous and varied jobs culminating in a position as governess to the two elder children of a very wealthy shipping and oil tycoon based in Athens. It was a job I loved, and I was very sad to leave it. There followed a pretty rough patch until I met the Amercian who would become my first husband, rather quickly!
We went to America after our marriage, but six months later we returned very happily to Greece when Neil was "home-ported" on the USS William M. Wood. I pottered around, selling American cigarettes and beer to the Greeks and island hopping whenever the ship pulled out, while the other "Navy" wives followed the ship going from port to port around the Med.
Unfortunately we all had to leave in 1975 due to the political situation but during the following year America proved too much for the marriage and I returned to England in the summer of '76. Some 14 years later I met and married my second husband, but divorced him three years later, reverting to my maiden name.
Now that I'm single again, I live with my two wonderful cats, Tiggie and Tommy.
