Open University course TU170k - Level 1 - 10 points
Computing with Confidence
Whilst looking for a 10-point course to keep me quiet over the winter and to supplement the 10-points I got from LXR122 Action in French, (the summer school in Caen,) I chanced upon the Open University's course TU170 "Computing with Confidence". 15 students were signed up under the tutelage of Mr Rudder (this is, of course, not his real name). Eight of us started, there were seven at the finish but I don't know if 2 completed - but hopefully there will be good news from them.
I used to have my work for TU170 published here to give other students an idea of what they could do - but I was appalled when a student contacted me to ask if he could copy it, despite my statement below, because "he is such a a busy person". Cheating is not permitted. Full stop.
This lack of tutor support was felt keenly by all of us, but at the end of the day it was people like Sarah Fullard, Mire Zloh, Nigel Gibson, Mike Hall, Anna Peachey, Geoff Ward, John Woodthorpe, Peter Osborne, and Lynne Dixon (my apologies if I have missed anyone out), who were the moderators of the Technical Help conference and tutors, who came to our aid, as well as other students who passed on tips and hints given to them by their tutors.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and hope to put my newly acquired knowledge to some good use (or not!)
For those of you confused by Cherrill and Sam appearing at the same time, help is here!
